Project for Rose’s 32nd Birthday

Hi everyone !

You might know that Rose will celebrate her 32nd birthday on February 9th and this year, I wanted to do something different and impactful. I have decided to launch a fundraising to help one of the charities she is supporting – it would be amazing to see fellow fans of her getting together to do something good in her honor. Since Rose is planning to attend an event organized by MS Society UK next May in London, this is the charity I’ve chosen for this fundraising. The goal is to raise as much money as possible which will be sent directly to the charity on February 9th thanks to a Just Giving page you can find below.

All donations are welcome and will mean a lot, even the smallest ones ! I’m also planning to send a card to Rose through the post to explain our project to her – if you have any birthday messages you’d like to send to her besides the donation, don’t hesitate to send it to me at roselesliesource@gmail.com and I will include it in the package I’ll send to her agency.

Thank you for reading and donating if you are able to ! To make a donation, just click on the « Donate Now » button. You can make a donation anonymously.

About the charity: MS Society is UK’s biggest multiple sclerosis (MS) charity which supports everyone living with MS and drives research into MS better treatments. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a lifelong condition which can affect the brain and/or spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms. More than 100,000 people in the UK and 2.3 million people worldwide have MS – its cause is still unknown and there is currently no cure. By donating to MS Society, we are also helping research to progress.

BBC Children in Need’s ‘Get Your Ears On’ campaign

As the BBC Children in Need Appeal night approaches (Friday 17th November 2017), Rose is amongst the latest stars encouraging people to ‘get their ears on’ and support the 2017 Appeal. Other stars backing the campaign this year include Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield, among others.

They have come together to encourage the Great British public to join them and help make a lasting, positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK by purchasing a pair of Pudsey ears and getting their ears on for BBC Children in Need.

The Super Furry Pudsey ears can be purchased BBC Children in Need’s website here or from one of the charity’s high street partners. They’re priced at £4 with at least 46% from the sale of the Pudsey ears going to benefit the charity. (source)

You can now find in the gallery an adorable picture of Rose wearing these furry ears to support the ‘Get Your Ears On’ campaign and below a promotional video :

Rose supports « World Cancer Day »

In last August, Rose showed her support to Anthony Nolan, the UK’s blood cancer charity and bone marrow register, by taking part to the #IGiveASpit campaign which urged people to add their names to stem cell donor register. She talked about the campaign here, and you can find some pictures taken to promote it in the gallery here. She said :

‘So far I’ve never had that call to say I’m a match for someone, but if I did, I’d consider it to be the greatest privilege of my life. One of my closest childhood friends, Millie, was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was 19. At the time, Millie campaigned to get more people onto the Anthony Nolan register and I remember feeling so humbled by her bravery and selflessness. She had a stem cell transplant using the best possible match on the register at the time, but it wasn’t the ‘perfect’ match and she sadly relapsed and died a few months later. If there were more young people on the Anthony Nolan register ten years ago, my friend might have found a closer match and might still be here today. So, even if just one person signs up because of the #IGiveASpit campaign, they could be the difference between life and death for someone like Millie.’

On 4 February, Antholy Nolan is uniting with Breast Cancer Care, Movember Foundation UK and Cancer Research UK to raise lifesaving awareness for World Cancer Day. They have posted a picture of Rose showing her support by wearing a Unity Band on their twitter today.
